Spoiler : Frances Gifford Gifford (1920 ~ 1994) alternated between lead and second lead roles, hitting her peak in films during the 1940s. She had early uncredited roles in "Stage Door" (1937), "Bringing Up Baby" (38) and "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington" (39), but her most memorable appearances were in "Cry Havoc" (1943), "Tarzan Triumphs" (43), "Thrill Of A Romance" (45), "Our Vines Have Tender Grapes" (45), "She Went To The Races" (45), "The Arnelo Affair" (47) and "Luxury Liner" (48). She also had roles in "Jungle Girl" (41), "The Glass Key" (42), "Marriage Is A Private Affair" (44), "Riding High" (50) and "Sky Commando" (53). Frances had a rather trying life, being in a bad car accident on New Year's Eve of 1947, which sidelined her career and brought on further physical and mental health issues. She passed in 1994 at age 73. She was married to actor James Dunn from 1938 to 1942.
