Bates, Florence (birth name was Florence Rabe) Born in San Antonio, Texas 4/15/1888; died 1/31/1954 of a heart attack in Burbank, California. First female lawyer in Texas (1914). Alfred Hitchock convinced her to become an actress. Screen debut in The Man In Blue (1937). Featured on the syndicated television series, The Hank McCune Show (1953).
