Born in Austin, Illinois 3/15/1898; died 11/9/1990. Married to Mildred Roddoz (1922-?). Mitchell attended the University of Illinois. Mitchell was an insurance adjuster that began his radio career in his church choir. In 1926, he joined WENR-Chicago as an announcer, later was chief announcer and farm director for the station.

Host of The National Farm And Home Hour on WENR-Chicago (1928-1958); NBC-BLUE (1928-1944); ABC- Radio (1944-1958). From 1942 to 1945, the program was called The Farm and Home Hour. Host of Voice of The Farm on WENR-Chicago sponsored by Firestone in the middle to late 1930s. Announcer for NBC Radio Network programs including The Carnation Contented Hour and Swift Studio Party.

Uncle Everett was an Uncle on my mother's side of the family. So enjoyed visiting Beautiful Day Farm when I was a kid.
