Born in New York City 9/23/1910; died 10/27/1990 of congestive heart failure in Scottsdale, Arizona. Son of former U.S. President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt. Married and divorced to actress Faye Emerson (1941-1950). He was educated at Columbia University. He served in the US Army, rising to the rank of Brigadier General. Was elected to a term as mayor of Miami, Florida.

Commentator on a Mutual program sponsored by Emerson Radios three-times-a-week in 1939. He always made news himself by disagreeing with his father, then president Franklin D. Roosevelt. Later Elliott established the Texas State Network with some 26 radio stations he bought. The stations were linked with the Mutual Radio Network.
