Joined NBC in London (1952), became an NBC-Radio-Television overseas news commentator. Commentator on Edwin Newman Reporting for NBC-TV (1960). Moderator for Nation's Future on NBC-TV (1961). Dave Garroway's replacement until John Chancellor took over The Today Show in 1961. Occasional narrator for Actuality Specials on NBC-TV (1962-1968). Host of What's Happening To America on NBC-TV in 1968; Comment on NBC-TV (1971-1972). Recieved the Overseas Press Club Award in 1961, Peabody Award in 1966 for NBC-Radio's Emphasis. Emmy Awards for drama reviews in 1966, 1983 for Kids, Drugs and Alcohol. Retired from NBC in 1984.
