Born in Woodland, California 9/12/1914; died 5/23/1963 of a stroke in Palm Desert, California. Educated at the San Jose State College. Howard began his career as a vocalist with bands of Ben Bernie; Eddie Fitzpatrick; Tom Gerun; Dick Jurgen, then formed his own band in 1941.

The Eddy Howard Orchestra provided music for Edgar A. Guest on NBC-BLUE (1941); Carton Of Smiles on NBC-Radio (1944-1945); The Sheaffer Parade on NBC-Radio (1947-1948). Health problems limited his career in the late 1940s through 1951, then he returned to host his own CBC program (1952-1953). Again health problems in 1954 caused Howard to curtail working, but he returned a last time to host his CBS program (1955-1956).
