(birth name was Edgar Dean Glossup, or Gloslup) Born in Posey, Texas ca 1907; died 3/4/1999 at age 91 in Thousand Oaks, California. Radio singer in the Midwest (1930-1934). Featured performer on WLS-Chicago National Barndance beginning in 1934. Moved to Hollywood, California in 1936, appearing on screen in Law Of The Pampas (the first of his over thirty B-movies). Voted one of the top ten Western stars of 1946 and 1947. Occasional guest on Gene Autry's Melody Ranch for CBS-Radio (1940-1956).
