Spoiler : The spinning plates man. Saw him again at the Follies in Palm Springs in the early 2000s. The power went out and plates were crashing to the floor. The little old plate spinner was heard to utter many different words. Lol! Fun memories.

Spoiler : Happy birthday to Ed Sullivan, born on September 28, 1901.

Spoiler : I used to think Sullivan was a caricature of a TV host. Then I grew up! And looking back, I'd like to thank him for introducing me as a youngster to so much talent. He was brave enough to feature The Beatles, much to the horror of many of our parents. And even more admirable, he shone a spotlight on so many Motown acts and other artists of color, at a time when that was very risky. Sullivan clearly appreciated talent, and he gave it to his audience weekly and in massive amounts. I just wish he and Steve Allen hadn't competed in the same time slot (if only we'd had DVRs in those days).
