Spoiler : For over thirty-six years, Pearson was a well-known news columnist. His own out-spoken comments were often the source of headlines themselves. With fellow correspondent Robert Allen (anonymously) wrote a book titled, "Washington Merry-Go-Round," exposing behind-the-scenes political dealings in our Nation's Capital. The book brought fame to the authors when their identities were revealed. In late 1932 his syndicated column began as, "Washington Merry-Go- Round," titled after the 1932 book sequel, "More Merry-Go-Round." Other books that Pearson wrote were, Nine Old Menand The American Diplomatic Game.

Spoiler : Robert Allen and Pearson were commentators on a Mutual-Radio program (1935-1936); Listen America for Mutual-Radio (1939-1940). Pearson became a single correspondent for Drew Pearson Comments for the NBC-BLUE and ABC Radio Networks (1941-53). Pearson's radio announcer always introduced him with, "And Now, Drew Pearson, whose predictions have proved to be eighty-four per cent accurate!" Commentator on The Drew Pearson Show for ABC-TV (1952); DuMont-TV (1953); syndicated television series, Washington Merry-Go-Round (1954-1957).

Spoiler : Pearson, Drew (birth name was Andrew Russel Pearson) Born in Evanston, Illinois 12/13/1897; died 9/1/1969 of a heart attack in Washington, D.C. Brother of NBC reporter Leon Pearson. Married to Countess Felicia Gizycka (?-?); Luvie Moore (?-?). Pearson graduated from Swarthmore College in 1919-Phi Beta Kappa, where his father was a professor. Right after he graduated, he went overseas as a Quaker relief worker to Yugoslavia, where he stayed for two years rebuilding a destroyed village, which the citizens renamed it to, Pearsonovits in honor of Pearson. After he returned to America, he began teaching at the University of Pennsylvania for a year, then traveled to China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. Pearson was able to talk newspapers in countries he had visited into hiring him as their American correspondent until 1932.
