Dolores Hope is an unsung Heroine of the Bob Hope Saga. She promoted the myth of a solid marriage through Hope's many affairs with Actresses such as Barbara Payton(who he set up in an apartment until the whole mess was about to explode), and so many others. Hope did a great deal of good, but he couldn't have been anywhere near as effective as he was without Dolores' support. In those days, that's usually what the wife did--hold it all together--and she did it well.
