Born in Grodno, Poland, Russian Empire (now Hrodna, Belarus) 9/3/1897; died 10/6/1986 of a heart attack in Columbus, Ohio. Musical prodigy that began playing the violin at age five, and graduated from the Warsaw Royal Conservatory Of Music at age fourteen. He was discovered by, and brought to America by Victor Hubert in 1911, and attended Forbes School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Radio debut on The Eddie Cantor Show for NBC-Radio in 1931 and became a regular on the program with Alan Reed providing his speaking voice until 1934. The Dave Rubinoff Orchestra provided music for The Jimmy Durante Show on NBC-Radio (1933-1936). Star of Rubinoff And His Violyn on NBC-Radio (1935-1936), CBS-Radio (1936-1937). He had retired in 1962, but still performed occasionally until his death.
