Spoiler : Lester, Buddy (Albert Lester) Born in Chicago, Illinois 1/16/1917; died 10/4/2002 of cancer in a nursing home at Van Nuys, California. Singer at age ten, later a comedian in night clubs. Screen debut playing himself as an entertainer in 1959's "The Gene Krupa Story." Lester, a handsome man with dark wavy hair, could assume mockingly menacing personas because of a somewhat mysterious scar to the right of his mouth. Lester always joked about how he got the scar, then in 1961 during a Los Angeles Mirror interview he told the story of how he fell off a chair onto a broken glass at age three. Once he was goign to have it removed, but changed his mind after a movie makeup artist liked it so much that he enlarged it for Lester's scenes. Spoiler : I just wanted to say that Buddy Lester also did a lot of tv shows such as, Barney Miller, Adam-12, Kodak to name a few. I know this because he was my grandfather. I had a friend by the name of Dave Palmer who was also in the business.
