Born in Chicago, Illinois 4/13/1906; died 3/15/1991 in Chicago, Illinois. Saxophonist with bands of Paul Whiteman; Benny Goodman; Tommy Dorsey. Served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Following the war formed a trio; toured Brazil in 1947; Chile and Peru (1952-1953). Formed a quartet, performed in clubs, on radio and television.
