Raised in Los Angeles, California where she worked as a photographer's model to pay for college. Screen debut playing Fern Simon in The Rains Came (1939). She replaced Maureen O'Sullivan as Jane in five Tarzan pictures (1939-1949). Featured guest star on radio programs including Stars Over Hollywood for CBS in the 1940s. She left acting in 1949 after playing Jane in Tarzan's Magic Fountain.
