Born in Kiev, Ukraine; died 6/26/1955 age 52 of a cerebral hemorrhage in Neuilly, France. He came to America in 1913 with his family. His family settled in Boston, Massachusetts where his mother ran a boarding house. In 1925, he and some musician friends from New York formed "Borrah Minevich and His Harmonica Players And Rascals." He became known as "The King Of The Harmonica."

On screen in Vitaphone shorts with his Rascals in 1934, One In A Million (1936); Jour de Fete (1952). Minevick and his group had their own NBC Radio program (1933-1934). In 1947, Minevich moved to France where he became a movie producer.
