Spoiler : Born in New York City 7/10/1910; died 11/15/2002 at a Santa Monica, California convalescent home of injuries suffered in a fall at home. Married to Charlotte Granet (1939-2002 his death). Granet graduated from Yale with a bachelor's degree, then began his Hollywood career in 1934, and during the next four decades he produced nearly a dozen motion pictures and television shows or series, and wrote scripts for 30 others. Granet was a an executive producer at Desilu Studios, and produced The Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse on CBS-TV (1958-1960); The Untouchables on ABC-TV (1959-1963); The Twilight Zone on CBS-TV (1959-1965). For Twilight Zone, he literally pulled the series off the shelf, as that's where CBS had stuck an episode titled, "The Time Element," after buying it from Rod Serling. It was Serling's plan to use the script as a pilot for the science fiction series he envisioned, but CBS was skittish about the commercial value of science fiction. Granet paid Serling $10,000 for the script.
