Born in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia 9/1/1909; died 5/26/1982 in Los Angeles, California. With Sy Bartlett co-wrote the novel that was the basis for the 1949 movie, "Twelve O'Clock High," and ABC-TV series (1964-1967).
