Spoiler : Bigard, Barney (Albany Leon Bigard) Born in New Orleans, Louisiana 3/3/1906; died 6/27/1980 in Los Angeles, Cali- fornia. Clarinetist with Joe "King" Oliver in Chicago (1925-1927), the Duke Ellington Orchestra (1924-1942), Freddie Slack band (1942-1944). Formed his own combo in 1944. Member of the Louis Armstrong All Stars from 1947 until 1961. Semi-retired after that, but still performed in Jazz fests world-wide. Composed tunes that include Mood Indigo, Rockin In Rhythm, Barney's Bounce and many more. On radio and television from the late 20's until the 70's.
