Spoiler : Antoinette Lees born in Butte, Montana (August 14, 1914 – May 21, 1984) was an American film actress popular during the 1930s. Leeds film career began in 1934, playing bit parts using her given name, Antoinette Lees. As Andrea Leeds, she played her first major role in the film Come and Get It (1936). For her role as Kay in Stage Door (1937) with a cast that included; Katharine Hepburn, Ginger Rogers and Lucille Ball, she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Other films include; It Could Happen to You (1937) with Alan Baxter, The Goldwyn Follies (1938), They Shall Have Music (1939) with Joel McCrea, her first leading role, Swanee River (1939) with Don Ameche, The Real Glory (1939) with Gary Cooper and Earthbound (1940) with Warner Baxter, her final film. In her personal life, in 1939, she married Robert S. Howard, son of racehorse owner Charles S. Howard (who owned and raced Seabiscuit) and retired from acting to devote herself to her marriage and raising a family. Later on, along with her husband, she became a successful horse owner/breeder. They were married until his death in 1962 and had two children, son Robert Howard Jr. and daughter Leann who died of cancer in 1971. Leeds died at the age of 69 in Palm Springs, California from cancer. She is buried in Desert Memorial Park, Cathedral City, California.
