Born in Elsberry, Missouri 5/31/1893; died 10/4/1954 in Paris, France. Mitchell began his career as a scientific writer, then was an arranger and conductor with Paul Whiteman's Orchestra from 1920 to 1927. Host of (the Answer Man) The Answer Man for Mutual-Radio (1937- 1950). He quit the series to work for the Marshall Plan in Paris, France.
