Napier, Alan (Alan William Napier-Clavering) Born in Brimingham, England 1/6/1903; died 8/8/1988 following a stroke in Santa Monica, California. 6'5" tall actor that made his British stage debut in Bittersweet (1929). Came to America in 1930. Broadway debut in Lady In Waiting (1940). Hollywood screen debut in We Are Not Alone (1939). General Steele on Don't Call Me Charlie for NBC-TV (1962-1963). Alfred Pennyworth (the butler) on Batman for ABC-TV (1966-1968).
