Spoiler : Born in Austin, Texas 1/31/1915; died 7/19/2002 of natural causes in Safety Harbor, Florida. Married and divorced to Elizabeth Harold (1937-?); Antoinette Marchand (1961-?). He was a country and western music folklorist that worked with his father, John Avery Lomax. The pair researched folk music history and created nationwide interest in music before country and western music was limited to the south and south west regions of America. John Avery died in 1948, but Alan continued on with their work.
