Spoiler : Jackson, Allan (birth name was Harry Jackson) Born in Hot Springs, Arkansas 12/4/1915; died 4/26/1976 from complications following surgery in New England. Jackson attended The University of Illinois at Campaign Urbana where he was a part time radio announcer at station WILL. He gained announcer experiance at stations KTHS-Hot Springs, Arkansas; WKZO-Kalamazoo, Michigan; WLW-Cincinnati, Ohio; WHAS-Louisville, Kentucky; WMC-Memphis, Tennessee. So, he was a seasoned announcer when he joined CBS in 1943. During his thirty-two years at CBS, he was an announcer, newscaster and news writer. He served as the network's London correspondent from 1946 to 1948, and reported from the State Department from 1949 to 1950.
