Former musical partner of Bing Crosby during the middle 1920's performing as Two Boys with Rinker on piano and Crosby on drums. Rinker and Crosby joined Paul Whiteman in 1927. When Whiteman hired Harry Barris to accompany Crosby and Rinker performing under the title of the Rhythm Boys until 1930 when Rinker and Crosby left to join Gus Arnheim's orchestra in Los Angeles. Bob Smith and Al Rinker created The Saturday Night Swing Club on CBS-Radio (1936-1939). Producer of The Gay Nineties Review on CBS-Radio (1939-1944).
