Spoiler : Bernard, Al (aka the boy from Dixie) Born in New Orleans, Louisiana 11/23/1888; died 3/6/1949. Singer and composer that wrote some 100 tunes during his career, many in collaboration with Russell Robinson. As a singer, he is credited with some four thousand recordings. He and Billy Beard teamed up as the Raybestos Twins, appearing on a radio program of songs and chatter from 1920 to 1930. Bernard was also a regular performer on radio programs including The Dutch Masters Minstrels sponsored by Consolidated Cigars on CBS (1931); The Molle Merry Minstrels (1934). He had his own radio program called Al Bernard's Merry Minstrels that was a sustained CBS show in 1939.
