Pringle, Aileen (birth name was Aileen Bisbee) Born in San Francisco, California 7/23/1895; died 12/16/1989 in New York City. Married and divorced to Charles McKenzie Pringle who was the son of Sir John Pringle, a Jamaica landowner and member of the Privy and Legislative Councils of Jamaica (1916-1926); novelist James M. Cain (1944-1946).

Aileen Pringle wasn't popular with her 20s peers, as she felt they were under-educated. Her fine diction and ladylike airs made her a favourite to meet the trains carrying important guests. Long after her popularity waned, studios would send her to greet theatre owners and other mid-level dignitaries.
