Married and divorced to a Navy Commander (1946-1956?); businessman Angelo Lewis (?-?); comedian Danny Dayton (1961-?); bandleader Dick Hinds (?-his death in the early 1970s). One of seven children whose father worked in coal mines and in construction. She grew up in Huntington, West Virginia, attended business school briefly and worked in a local drug store. While married to her first husband, she moved to New York working modeling sweaters. Dagmar began her acting career and got her name when she appeared on Broadway in Laughing Room Only as a stooge for the comedy team of Olsen and Johnson. Statuesque at five foot, eleven inches in heels, and very "well-endowed" (39 to 42 inches) blonde that bumper guards on automobiles of the 1950s were named after.
