Avalon Time, otherwise called Avalon Hour, was comedian Red Skelton's very first radio comedy show. With Avalon Cigarettes as the main sponsor, the show aired from 1938 to 1940 on NBC Radio. Before, when the show was still hosted by singer Red Foley, Avalon Time primarily featured popular western songs and music. Upon the arrival of Skelton, nonetheless, the show became a comedy and variety program.
The most interesting part of the show was when Skelton travels through time, meeting the "Skelton version" of popular historical figures such as King Arthur Skelton, Marco Polo Skelton, and Julius Caesar Skelton. From January 7 to December 20, 1939, Red Skelton remained as the main attraction of Avalon Time.
