Miller hosted a weekly discussion program over the CBS radio network for six years titled the Mitch Miller Show. Miller invited a number of his show business and literary friends to the show, including Carl Sandburg, Carlos Romulo, Charles Laughton, Eddie Foy Jr., Gary Cooper, Harold Lloyd, Janet Gaynor, Joe E. Lewis, Lerner and Lowe, Lillian Gish, Mary Pickford,Peter Ustinov, Eddy Duchin, and many others. The show had a very simple format, not unlike current late night TV talk shows.
