Old Time Radio Downloads > Crime > Dangerous Assignment

In the old time radio show Dangerous Assignment International Operative Steve Mitchell had only two jobs, to get in and out of danger.  This old time radio spy series was well-received by listener's across America, despite the fact that it dealt with your typical Cold War fare. Veteran film actor Brian Donlevy breathed life into the character of Mitchell and convincingly portrayed the dangerous lifestyle the espionage had.  The Commisioner, played by Herb Butterfield was a mysterious politician shrouded in intrigue. His plots and machinations would often land Mitchell in all sorts of hair-raising situations that would quickly snowball from bad to worse.  However, Mitchell's quick wit and sharp reflexes would often allow him to escape safe and whole, if not a little unscathed. Needless to say, Dangerous Assignment with its high drama and fast-paced action sequences will always have a place in the list of the best loved old radio shows for all time.

ABOUT OLD TIME RADIO
The buzz-term for Old Time Radio is "OTR". OTR usually means radio broadcasting from the golden age of radio, mostly before 1964.These shows from the pre-television age include adventure, comedies, mystery shows, western dramas and shows from World War II. These programs feature the best talent of the day and were broadcast nearly as widely as cable programs today. And just like TV today, families would gather around their crystal radio sets to enjoy the entertainment together.
