Old Time Radio Downloads > Comedy > Danny Kaye Show

The Danny Kaye Show was a variety show that featured one of America’s most beloved comedian David Daniel Kaminsky, aka Danny Kaye. Known to be a fast talker, Kaye very much amazed his listeners by doing such acts as reciting the name of 50 Russian composers in exactly 30 seconds, or performing a play where every character was played by him. Of course, he did not forget to include others in his skits and jokes. Some of his co-stars included Butterfly McQueen and Eve Arden among others, as well as other famous stars like Gracie Allen, George Burns, Jimmy Durante, Judy Garland, Carmen Miranda, Orson Welles, and Frank Sinatra. The show was heard on-air from 1945-1946.

ABOUT OLD TIME RADIO
The buzz-term for Old Time Radio is "OTR". OTR usually means radio broadcasting from the golden age of radio, mostly before 1964.These shows from the pre-television age include adventure, comedies, mystery shows, western dramas and shows from World War II. These programs feature the best talent of the day and were broadcast nearly as widely as cable programs today. And just like TV today, families would gather around their crystal radio sets to enjoy the entertainment together.
