Abies Irish Rose is a family sitcom that aired on NBC radio for two years, from January 24, 1942 to September 2, 1944. It served as a replacement another show entitled Knickerbocker Playhouse.

It told the story of Abie and Rosemary Levy, a couple of Jewish and Catholic descent. The two married despite the disputes of their respective families. Abie Levy, the show's main character, was portrayed various actors including Richard Bond, Bud Collyer, Richard Coogan, and Sydney Smith. Rosemary Levy, on the other hand, was also played by different actresses like Mercedes McCambridge, Marion Shockley, Julie Stevens, and Betty Winkler.

The buzz-term for Old Time Radio is "OTR". OTR usually means radio broadcasting from the golden age of radio, mostly before 1964.These shows from the pre-television age include adventure, comedies, mystery shows, western dramas and shows from World War II. These programs feature the best talent of the day and were broadcast nearly as widely as cable programs today.
